Code Of Conduct For An Insurance Agent

Since insurance is one of the fastest developing industries in India, expect that there are a lot of agents out there that will sell you various policies. If you have issues giving your full trust to these people, don’t be as they definitely play an important role in finding the perfect insurance for you and your family. Besides, insurance regulatory board of India (IRDA) has written down the code of conduct for these insurance agents. All you have to do is familiarize your self with these codes and you won’t be fooled by swindlers.

Here are some of the codes of conduct from IRDA:

* An insurance agent should discuss all the facts while selling any insurance policy. He should be clear to the customer.

* An insurance agent can’t expand the advantages of any policy to the client.

* He should be responsible enough to discuss the nature of the policy properly to the client as this will help them to take a wise decision.

* He cannot even hide any facts from the business on behalf of the client in order to sell the policy. He should be fair to the customer and the company when the policy is being sold.

Insurance agents are the only intermediary between an insurance company and a customer. Therefore they should always be evenhanded as well as ethical when selling policies.
