Rental Car Insurance Explained

We always tell you, our readers, that having car insurance is a must. This time however, we would also like to inform you that even if you just rent a car, you still need to have a car insurance plan. By law, one cannot be considered a legal driver without having insurance and that does not exclude those who are just going to use a car for a short period of time. Remember, there’s no right timing for accidents.

If you currently have an insurance policy for your vehicle, check if it could be used to cover the rental car. Ask your provider if this is part of your coverage and if so, lucky you as you will be able to save about thirty dollars a day. Otherwise, you can take a look at your other options for rental car insurance.

Rental companies have different types of insurance policies. Generally, there are two main types of policies; Part Liability Insurance and No Liability Insurance but there are also other small insurance options that can take care of you as well. Some plans will even pay for a hotel if something happens to your vehicle.

In deciding which plan to get, just make sure it will satisfy your needs and most of all, your budget.
